I wish i had your power to get so many anons and messages. It was always one of my biggest hopes as a fic writer but ppl just kind of ask for requests and don’t talk to me 😭 is it fun to discuss stuff with all your anons and read them or is it annoying or weird for you?

ohhh beloved, i’m sorry. it’s rough feeling like you only exist to fill requests. when i was first starting out, i liked reblogging those ask games to encourage engagement. sometimes people aren’t sure if they should be sending random messages if there isn’t already a precedent for it.

your question is actually pretty telling of this fact. a lot of people are just scared of being annoying! but no, i’m not annoyed or weirded out by it. i very sincerely appreciate that people wanna let me be a yapper on my blog all day lol i’m just terribly sorry for those that don’t get answered. it’s never been for lack of wanting to. 🖤

Now that it’s been brought back to the forefront of my mind in regards to yesterday’s SL asks, it really is genuinely kinda nuts how the potions were revealed in Season 2 and have only physically appeared (i.e. not just been mentioned or shown in a one-off picture or alternate timeline) in 13 out of what’s now 92 episodes (not counting specials) since their closest-to-chronological debut. Even more wild is the fact that, like you pointed out, only 3 out of 7 potion powers are canonically known to date. Apparently That Guy tweeted a few years back that one of the remaining ones is supposed to be a Fire potion (which, if true, may be the one Marinette was trying to figure out the “spicy little rock” ingredient for in Mr. Pigeon 72?) that gives the user the ability to walk on lava and/or a resistance to scorching heat, but they haven’t been able to use it since “Fire is something very difficult to use in shows watched by kids, because we have to pay extra-care that they won't see fire as a cool thing and play with it afterwards. Broadcasters tend to prefer not showing it at all.” To which I’m like?? A) You guys STAY hopping between whether you want your target demographic to be little kids or early teens in actual practice. B) There have to be a million ways that you can blatantly write the idea that fire is dangerous which is why the Fire potion would be NEEDED (or, y’know, have more faith in your audience’s ability to intuitively understand that from the get-go). C) If you already understood that a fire power up was genuinely likely to be a hard no-go with your broadcasters, maybe change your plans to only conceptualizing 6 instead of 7 potions before putting them in the actual show???

Right? And like, he said Lava as well. So do something WITH LAVA if you can't use fire! (I bet it would be easier to animate too!) Or, or! Invent a kind of goo or acid that burns LIKE Lava so they have to use the suit! That could be the debut episode, where it's impossible to get close because of the heat and burn of it until BAM! Fire Suit.

It's not like you have to use the suits OFTEN, they've only used the Ice one like two times I think, just do a debut episode and then use it for Ordinary Heroing, like actually running into a burning building and saving people. Pretty sure even kids don't think house fires are cool, so you don't HAVE to associate fire with a "cool" akuma.

A long time ago when I was ranting about this I was informed by a Anon that the others were "revealed" at some convention or expo and they were things like Air and Space (space hadn't been shown at the time), Sun and Moon, and like...Soul? So, what's the difference between Air and Space? Are Sun and Moon supposed to be Light and Dark, how is that following the Environmental Costume Change of the three we know? Wtf is Soul? Maybe it's a lack of cohesion that's making this difficult for them.

The more I hear about them, the more I think this idea was never fully fleshed out and will never BE fleshed out.

Thank you for your various huntl0w negative posts because I've never liked the ship but I've never took the time to put it into words and you do it so well. I'm just now coming back into the fandom and the sheer amount of it is. Kinda disappointing.

I feel like both Hunter and Willow become significantly less interesting characters due to it. (And I'm honestly really attached to the idea of aroace willow personally. Even before the finale it was my main hc for her)

Also as someone who is physically disabled, to the point of not being able to do some tasks abled bodied people can do. The comparison being willow being "half a witch" and hunter being one as well is. So odd. As a justification for the ship

Because willow just isnt physically disabled? Shes even extremely good at the magic shes good at. She was only bad at magic previously because she had not yet found the thing shes good at.

While Hunter just can't use magic. (And, in Hindsight this makes the girlboss/Male wife dynamic they're forced into having even. More uncomfortable for me because of course the abled person has to "be the leader". Despite the fact that the disabled is extremely capable.

And as an aside, I’m sorry to the anons and asks that have rotted in my inbox over the past year,, work has been taking over my life and I have had much brain power to devote to responding to asks or,, talking to people in general. I definitely want to work on getting some semblance of my life back this coming year lmao (now that I have a good team who can mostly cover things if I need time to myself).

Hunter & Willow definitely both become less interesting characters after they’re shoved together in the show, which is canonically platonic and not even romantic, so imagining them in a canon romantic relationship is even worse. Hunter has one passion: tradhusband, while Willow girlbosses herself into becoming swole and playing sports… uninterestingly. Jokes aside, I also subscribe to aroace Willow, even over the more popular aroace Hunter headcanon. She never, ever, ever showed interest in any sort of romance throughout the entire show, and I argue doesn’t even show it to Hunter in the finale as she acts the same way with Gus in the end credits (the blink & you miss it blush in FtF aside). Willow has been shown throughout the whole series to be very physical and touchy with her close friends. And that’s that to me 🤷🏼‍♀️

The disability issue is just. A whole other world of baffling to me that we even let that slide in the show. Everyone I’ve heard comment on it has been physically disabled to some extent themselves (including myself), so I’m not really sure why those critiques aren’t taking precedence over the people that like the ship. It’s always made me extremely uncomfortable for the exact reason you said- Willow is not disabled, and is actually good at magic. She was just being held back due to her dad’s wanting to encourage a more “useful” coven track. Hunter literally cannot preform magic. Which is a disability on the Isles, when everyone else born there naturally has magic and uses it in their every day lives. I cannot get over the concept of their “half-a-witch” experiences being anywhere close to similar. If someone like Willow said that to me, when what I was referring to was being physically disabled, I would have been SO put off by it. I hadn’t even fully considered the implications of the trope they get pigeon-holed into, even by the crew, in relation to that fact. Which is. So fucking icky actually. Especially when you also consider how bulldozing and pushy Willow is, both in general and when they first met, all but forcing him to join her team & sucking him underground with vines at one point. And then the next time they see each other being totally down with Bump turning him in, and only stepping in when he gives real proof that he’d been with Gus, who is and has been her best friend for years. Willow was 100% ready to back him being handed over to Belos despite knowing the things Belos has done. Just. Hate that relationship concept personally. But maybe that’s just me 🙃

You know the moment Luci’s feet touch sand that she’s going to be trouble.

She’s never been by the ocean before, so it was obvious to both you and Austin that this small getaway was going to be something. She’s very much used to the park, basically knows that terrain like the back of her hand, can run free under her parent’s gaze to chase squirrels up a tree or talk to some (unwilling) pigeons or find her spot on a swing or slide. But here? New rules, new places to explore.

You make sure you pack everything under the sun for her (pun intended)—sunscreen, floatie swimsuit, a hat, swim shoes, sandcastle building toys, the works. You’ve been to the beach plenty of times, but it’s your first with a toddler.

This was all Austin’s idea, wanting to completely unwind and disconnect after awards season. Nothing too extensive, there’s no need to escape for a complete month or anything, but you can understand the urge to get away and feel refreshed. It’s a restart button. There are so many new projects and passions on the horizon, not to mention Luci makes every day interesting in her own way, you’re just looking forward to unwinding with your little family.

Austin books an air bnb with a patio that leads into the sand and on the water—it’s very exclusive, private, connected to a resort nearby in case they would ever want to be in a pool or visit a restaurant instead of the ocean or cook something. Admittedly, you like the idea of having time to yourself (your husband to yourself), and less possibility of running into any paps (even though you know you’re not completely hidden from the public eye). The almost promise is more than enough.

The resort has a small store that you’re milling around in as Austin takes Luci to the bathroom—you definitely had her use the facilities at the Airbnb before leaving it but, it’s all still a learning curve. Besides, you wanted to get a container of fruit or something to take in the swim bag that you’ve got over your shoulder, perfect to mix with the crackers and cheese that you have already packed. Pushing your sunglasses further into your hair, you adjust your sheer cover-up skirt over your black and white polka-dot two-piece bathing suit. Luci’s got on a matching one piece—you thought you were being very cute and clever with that.

You reach for a small package of pineapple and strawberries at the same time this guy does, both of you kinda doing that awkward laugh and pull-back before he motions for you to go head.

“Thanks,” You smile, picking up the container and checking the price.

“Haven’t seen you around the resort before,” He says, grabbing one for himself and you get what he means even though you know where this is going. The resort is on the smaller side, exclusive, and this is the first time you and Austin have brought Luci over here to check out the small market.

Before you can even say anything—

“Feel like I’d remember someone as pretty as you.”

You let out a slow breath, giving the guy a kind smile, “That’s because I’m actually here with my husband and daughter.”

And you’ve got no idea if the guy thinks it’s some kind of line, because he glances down at your hand and doesn’t see the wedding ring (you’ve taken it off for the beach) and has the audacity to keep going.

“And here I was gonna offer to buy you a drink.”

“She said no,” Austin says as he approaches and you turn to look at him over your shoulder. He’s got Luci in his arms and it looks like he’s put her hair into pigtails since he’s had her. His tone is kinda neutral, probably not to alarm his daughter, but his face is set—eyes a sharp blue, that muscle working in his jawline. “You havin’ trouble with that?”

The guy clears his throat and shakes his head once before backing off, quickly moving towards the cashier to buy his fruit and leave. You sigh softly, giving your husband a warm smile in hoping to melt the ice around him. Sliding your arms around his waist, you lean in and peck his lips.

“Can’t leave you alone for a minute in this suit, apparently,” He teases against your mouth, nipping at your lower lip with his own. “Sharks start to circle.”

A soft laugh rumbles in your chest, squeezing his waist, “No one is circling.”

“Sharks!” Luci exclaims excitedly, “Fishies.” She reaches for your face with both of her hands, clasping your cheeks.

You can’t help but snicker, playfully tugging on one of her pigtails, “Yes, sharks and fishes. We’re gonna go check out their home soon.”

Austin takes the fruit from you to buy and you slip it into the beach tote before heading back outside. The sun is high in the sky, the weather hot but not suffocating, clouds like hazy cotton balls hanging about in the mass blue. It’s literally a perfect day for the beach. You take your sandals off to walk in the sand once you reach the Airbnb, Austin setting Luci down and holding onto her hand so they can work together to find a perfect spot to put their towels down.

Luci points and you nod because this will work, it’s right by the water but close enough to their patio that they can set drinks on the deck instead of in the sand. You throw the towels down, opening them up to sit on and removing your cover up because there definitely needs to be sunscreen. You can feel Austin’s eyes on you and when you look over, you can tell he’s checking you out, his gaze tracing over your skin like his hands would.

Kind of ironic coming from him, how beautiful he is, panels of smooth skin with kisses of freckles on his cheekbones and shoulders. He’s wearing small pieces of accent jewelry, a ring that’s not his wedding band (so he doesn’t lose anything valuable) and a thin silver chain resting around his neck. You playfully stick your tongue out at him as he undresses and he lets out a soft laugh, removing his t-shirt so that he’s just in his fitted swim trunks.

Luci takes off her sandals and attempts to make a run for the water and luckily Austin is quick, he does a half spin and picks her up right out of the sand, “Where do you think you’re goin’?” He asks, flipping her onto her back in his arms.

“Daddy!” She giggles, kicking her legs, “Water.”

“Water,” Austin shakes his head, sitting with her on the towel, fixing her swimsuit straps. “For one, my lil dino,” He reaches for the sunscreen you’re handing him, sitting down on the towel next to Luci. “You need sunscreen, and secondly, you never go in the water without me or mom, understand?”

He tips her chin up to make sure she’s listening and she nods, her eyes bright and wide as she takes a look out at the water, Austin putting sunscreen on her arms and legs while you put a small dollop on her face.

She gives you a cheesy, big grin and you can’t help but chuckle, leaning down to press a kiss to her hair. After you all have a decent layer of sunscreen, both you and Austin hold onto one of Luci’s hands so she’s in the middle and walk towards the water.

Luci has always been a really curious girl, so she’s not scared when she dips her toes in and then a whole foot, squealing as the wave of cool water slips over her ankles and legs. Austin chuckles a little, gently swinging her with his arm into the next wave. She then reaches both of her hands towards him,

“Up!”

You sink into the water, up to your waist, toes curling in the sand underneath you. You smile as you watch Austin lean down and bring Luci into his arms and he slips down towards you, the water reaching his shoulders eventually as you both wade out.

Austin keeps a secure grip on Luci, who claps at the water and reaches for you every so often, touching your hair and shoulder. You dive under at one point and bring up a seashell, which she’s totally enamored by, and you decide that you’ll keep and maybe make it into a piece of jewelry for her one day. It’s a sturdy, nicely shaped, off-white one—almost has this semi-pink hue to it. Perfect to go on a necklace.

It's a lot of time spent in the water until Luci decides that she wants to build a sandcastle for the rest of the day. She’s very particular about the structure, disregarding a lot of what Austin attempts to build, much to your amusement. You take a few videos and post one to your story, Jillian instantly commenting and leaving a mix of love and jealousy in her emojis.

When you head back inside for the day, Luci is definitely spent. You just manage to give her a quick bath and change her into pajamas before she’s like warm clay in your arms. She slumps against your chest, face tucked into your neck.

“Haven’t even had a chance to get my swimsuit off yet.” You chuckle lightly as you pass Austin in the kitchen, who’s quickly changed into a soft pair of gray joggers and a white t-shirt. His hair is slightly blonder today from the sun and in wild curls, cheeks kissed tan-ish pink.

He takes a break from pouring both of you an iced coffee from the fridge and reaches for Luci, “I’ll put her down, you should take a shower—think you got sand in your hair.” He playfully reaches for a strand near your jaw and you smack his hand away.

“Charming.”

He smirks and plants a quick kiss on your cheek before you can hit him again and moves to take Luci down the hall. Shaking your head, you walk to the bathroom and turn the shower on, rinsing and shampooing quick in order to get into more comfortable clothes. When you use your towel to dry off though, it kinda feels like cardboard or like the Airbnb didn’t use enough fabric softener when washing these things. It hurts to use, especially on your shoulders and…

Wait. You wipe the steam off the mirror, turning to look over your shoulder at your back and groan.

“Crap.” You mumble under your breath, pulling your underwear on and towel drying your hair.

You open the door to let the steam out, wincing at the red skin and you’re trying to figure out what you an even put on to lounge in…it’s going to have to be something that’s similar to the strap design of your bathing suit. Ugh.

“Where’s the aloe?” You ask Austin as he comes round the corner from putting Luci to bed.

He takes one look at your shoulders and a soft smile twinges its way to the corners of his mouth, “You do this every time.”

Austin sounds far too amused for your liking…and if you didn’t need him to find the aloe and help you apply it, you’d be throwing this towel at his head. “I do not.”

You wander into the bedroom after dropping the towel in a basket in the bathroom, sitting down on the bed. This is totally not your fault…you kept applying sunscreen throughout your day after being in and out of the water. What else could you do? You sigh softly and tip your head back as Austin comes in with the green bottle, rolling it between his hands to warm up the aloe—honestly, husband points for that one.

“Least it’s me and not Luci.”

Austin hums and settles down behind you, brushing your hair aside and pressing a kiss to your sore shoulder. He squeezes aloe out into his hands and continues to warm it on his palms before gently settling his touch on your skin. You wince a little, closing your eyes, letting out a slow breath as he rubs it in.

“Should start feelin’ better in a few minutes here.” He says, leaning forward to plant a kiss to the back of your head. You smile a little, can’t help it, the feeling of his touch and the heat of his body utterly comforting.

“Today was really nice.” You stand from the bed and reach for a sports bra in your suitcase that has similar straps to the bathing suit you had on today. With a little bit of help from Austin, you wrangle the thing on and…avoid being in a decent amount of pain, so. Pulling your hair up into a bun, you turn to look at your husband, “Luci’s definitely a fan of the beach and water.”

“And seagulls.” Austin chuckles warmly, moving a stray strand of hair behind your ear, “There was a lot of tryin’ to talk to them today.”

“Probably misses her pigeon friends.” You snicker.

But admittedly, this was great. Without doubt something needed after the stress and busyness of award season. You reach out to place a hand on Austin’s chest, your thumb tracing back and forth along his collarbone. You’ve still got time left on this vacation clock, but you’re already thinking ahead—

“We should definitely come back when we’ve got the time.”

Austin picks your hand up and presses a kiss to your fingers, “We’ll make time.” And you smile because you know that’s a promise.

Chewing on your lower lip, you raise your eyebrows, brushing your fingers on his cheek, “You know what we’ve got time for right now?”

Austin lets out a warm laugh, amused, “You gonna be able to do anything with a sore back?”

You playfully push him to lay down on the bed, crawling on top of him until you’re straddling his waist, “Looks like I’ll just have to be on top.”

Austin hums, his eyes darkening blue as he leans up and draws you into a kiss.

Reading what you had to say about Bugettes!Longg and Taaraa in that last anon’s ask makes me REALLY hope that Sabrina specifically wins Dragonfly when Sunday’s new poll comes out so that Marinette can specifically win Mantis the week after. With Sabrina and Dragonfly, she already has diamonds as her main design pattern and the Blues of her shirt and especially shorts are overall lighter than Marinette’s hair, which is more Indigo. Sabrina having the Dragonfly would also play into her history as Chloe’s accomplice since dragonflies have often been seen as sinister in Europe, with English nicknames like “horse-stinger”, “devil's darning needle” and “ear cutter” coming from the common misconception that dragonflies can bite or sting humans. Speaking of the “devil's darning needle” one, it’s similar to some Southern terms for dragonflies like “snake doctor” and “snake feeder” that refer to a folk belief that dragonflies catch insects for snakes or follow them around and stitch them back together if they’re injured, which VERY heavily mirrors the canon relationship that Sabrina has with Chloe. Since canon!Sabrina has moments of actually enjoying doing Chloe’s dirty work and being unpleasant and conniving in her own right (Origins, Mr. Pigeon, Lady Wi-Fi, etc.) and of desperation for connections with better people, most notably Marinette (Evillustrator, Darkblade, the end of Mayura when Marinette admitted her feelings to Adrien, etc.), AND of willingness to act and ultimately do the right thing when seriously pushed (Catalyst, Adoration, Confrontation) all as equal parts of her character, I definitely think that a strong-willed yet still benevolent fairy like Bugettes!Longg would be able to counteract Chloe’s influence more than the other Miraculous girls due to living with Sabrina (which is especially helpful since it’s really not the other girls’ responsibility in the first place, even moreso for the girls who Sabrina used to help torment and would need to earn forgiveness from) and push her into switching to the protagonists’ side and STAYING there much earlier and firmer than in canon. Given dragonflies’ Europe-specific negative connotations compared to countries outside of it and the fairies being Europe-based in origin, Bugettes!Longg may even have some life advice for Sabrina on how some people closest to your vicinity may continue to look at you suspiciously while others won’t, whether deserved or undeserved, and how to make proper amends and connections concerning those that will accept and/or forgive you, how to make genuine inner peace concerning those that won’t, whether or not it’s justified on their end, and how to continue growing yourself regardless in either case. Also, since Alya won the Firefly poll and looking at the rosters for the remaining polls, having at least one Miraculous team member who ISN’T an objectively good person from the get-go would shake things up in a good way story-wise.

With Marinette and Mantis, Northern Praying Mantis and Southern Praying Mantis immediately pop up in my mind as martial arts options for Marinette to delve into as a civilian in order to help with hero work (kinda like when SL!Marinette mentioned doing gùn training with SL!Sabine after she insisted), giving her an avenue to actively make her own connections with Chinese culture. You’ve also confirmed that Taaraa, while being secretive and suspecting much of what *will* happen, is very poised, prudent, and mainly works off intellect and logic, which would definitely help balance Marinette out in places where she actually needs it, in and of their relationship itself but ESPECIALLY compared to Marinette’s in-show relationship with canon!Tikki. On that note, I wholeheartedly welcome Marinette having a fairy who rarely shares anything of what’s to potentially come while still being this genuinely wise (perhaps keeping quiet BECAUSE of this wisdom in how people can overthink the future for better or worse) compared to a kwami who often canonically admits to not having a lot of personal experience in most if not all of the areas where she gives advice. Also, the character designer in me would really just like to see Marinette in a hero costume that pulls on the denser blues of her eyes and hair instead of the grays and pinks of her outfit, which we already got to canonically see with Multimouse (this isn’t to say I’d be upset with Centipede!Marinette either, especially with how you’ve described that version of events, just that I’d like to see Mantis!Marinette first).

While all valid points, though it will ultimately come down to the poll when it comes out.

I do think, at this time, that it's likely that Marinette will not get Dragonfly. It just hasn't come up at all on the remaining bugs, it's mainly Mantis, Butterfly, and Centipede that pop up for her. Which so far, I see the most talk for Mantis!Marinette.

Though Sabrina getting Dragonfly, we'll see. She and Marinette are not the only ones competing for it, Mylene and Mirielle also are, which kinda sets it up as most up the air.

(early 2022) dan and phil did a 2015-esque challenge where they had to tag each others backs - aka a game of tag - while they go about their day as normal during lockdown. they did the vid in their real apartment (or the one where they filmed the pigeon steve videos). they both filmed using their own phones and basically vlogged their pandemic experience.

there were 3 rounds to each of them and they would take turns tagging the other. they came up with alternative ways of winning the game, but phil ended up as the winner all bc dan decided as an added challenge for round 3, he was gonna hide behind the bed and hoped phil eventually forgot abt the game so he could jump and surprise tag him on the back.

what ended up happening was when dan jumped, phil didnt have his back to him, so they both hugged eachother really right and dan kept squeezing him like he was pissed at phil and swaying him to try to play it off. but phil never forgot about the tag thing, so he tagged himself before dan slaps phils back, declaring him as the winner (apparently if your opponent was secretly about to tag you, you can quickly tag yourself before they do and its an automatic point)

when they were hugging out the window there was a guy who walked past them in their shared balcony(??), he noticed them and walked away. the phannies have seen him in multiple AP videos kinda just walking by every now n then. he got labled as "neighbour ben" and people would make compilations of his cameos lmao

i cant explain how funny the video was. like dan had this monologue on how he once had to do a school assignment for the "Bureau of Languages" or smth and he didnt know what to write about, so he wrote on some birds who had no sex and instead lit tree sap on fire and smoked them (cut to a clip of said bird). then it cut to phil who randomly became a manul cat(?) blanking at dans tangent like "🙂...okay!", and they both laughed.

I did not check other people's tumblrs for like a week and just caught up on all the Princess Bee stuff! Sorry for the anon shyness, but I have a couple of things:

1. You mind if I draw these suckers and send em to you? Cuz now I really wanna draw the next gen kids, Chester Fester, and timeskip designs for everybody.

2. Holy shit, this is a fun premise! I especially love that Chloe is a lawyer! Like, she'd be so good at it, especially with the way you write her (which is the default Chloe in my brain, tbh). You already have her run the merch department. Her dad is the freaking mayor, even if he is a bad one. She's already really good at knowing which authority can override what and when, she's good at working the system and knowing when it's screwed up, and she's got a helluva sense of justice after all the shit she's been through.

2. Some stuff with Lila: I know it was decided that she was gonna do a grand scheme where she got her petty revenge on Ladybug, but then Ladybug didn't show up after the first few akumas cuz the wish said so, and so she kinda just fucked off for a bit to do lowkey cons using the butterfly. When she sees the new EmmaBug, it brings up unaddressed trauma and she zooms back to Paris and starts being a Problem TM. But, like, what is actually her plan? She's going after the miraculous, but what does she want to do with them? What'll her wish be? I know she doesn't really care about the shit that went down with the Miracuclass anymore (she did get exposed). But she is still real bothered by Ladybug, but we also kinda established that she doesn't really know what she wants. So what are Lila's plans?

3. Thoughts on establishing a rogues gallery:

You said you wanted the main focus to be akuma, so why not have a handful of regularly occurring akumas instead of a new one every time? We've already got Chester as Lila's right-hand man, even if he is gonna be a bit of an inneffectual, comedic, Mr. Pigeon-esque akuma. Why not have Lila amass several other allies to regularly akumatize who want in on whatever she's up to. Lila can be very charming and has been doing on and off cons for like 20+ years. Odds are, she's met some pissed of people willing to do some shady shit to get what they want. Lila was also very much willing to use Chloe for her bullshit back in the day, so she could also maybe manipulate some people into helping her out, especially if you want more kid akumas.

I also think it would be cool if you had a handful of other "rogues" who are unrelated to Lila and aren't actively villainous so much as they are assholes that cause issues. Like, Chloe's enemies from lawyering, some of Jess and Zoe's problems from NYC, the creepy boy who was uncomfortably hitting on Emma and ended out getting Dawn landed in the principal's office in the first place, the previously discussed Chief of Police. Etc.

4. I really like the idea of the kids all being roughly the same age, but a couple years apart. It allows for shenanigans like Hugo and the other younger kids having an awkward gang of middle school pals who know nothing about this shit, shipping the heroes, writing fanfics, giving unsolicited bad advice, etc. And it lets some of the kids be older, more mature, more experienced, and act as mentors to their middle child leader. Kinda how Luka worked for the OGs, but you have more of them with different personalities. Kinda like how digimon adventure had the kids mostly the same age but a little spread out across a few grades.

5. Give Hugo or Louis the horse. That would be a really obvious one to take out for a joyride, and they'd get attached to Kaalki.

Which has resulted in her motivation being a touch nebulous. In that... Ya girl has been rolling with a lot of depression that she doesn't realize is 'depression' because fuck man what does she have to be 'depressed' about? So she just feels like nothing is 'enough' to make her happy and must find something out there that can 'fix' her.

Seeing the 'Ladybug Returns' both kinda gets in her head of as much she acknowledges her grudge with LB was petty teen stuff, it is unresolved business. And that may make her feel better. However, barring that, the Wish would do whatever she wants. It could 'fix' her. Give her whatever she needs to not feel this hollow emptiness in her chest 24/7.

3.) Honestly having all sorts of nonsense to be problems is GREAT.

4.) Yeah I haven't established much on their ages other than Emma and Louis are twins while Hugo is roughly a year and a half younger (so a grade down). I doubt I'd have everyone in the same class, but the whole group are still friends due to knowing each other for years.

5.) Ha! I'm thinking Louis with the Horse now.

It's the clanmew rabbithole anon again. I have so many OCs and i find the translations way too fun lol.

Rainstone- Ssacharbon (deluge-useful stone). Lots of different rain words to choose from, but deluge felt pretty fitting for this character! Useful stone over other rock types because Rainstone is a very dutiful cat who cares a lot for his clan, and I think using useful stone specifically kind of emphasizes that.

Tundrawolf- Hchomuruoo (swan-wolf). Tundrawolf was actually given his prefix after the tundra swan, and it is a legacy name for his grandfather, Swanstar, and I chose to keep that over the snow/winter vibes of the name. Wolf was an easy direct translation.

Sootscorch- Keyafifkar (cinder-burned). Soot turning into cinder/ash feels like a no brainer. Scorch translates to burned- Sootscorch's name brings up the imagery of scorch marks, so burned feels fitting.

Roothollow- Babechokyaog (dead tree limb-forest). YOU. This one gave me so much trouble. Roothollow has the imagery of roots in a forested hollow, fitting for her lowkey and dependable personality. But the use of hollow also gives the vibe of emptiness and wrongness... and considering Roothollow is the daughter of a disgraced, cruel medicine cat, that's definitely something she carries. So I had a really hard time finding something that encompasses that. I think that the imagery of a forest full of dead trees also has a similar vibe, even if it isn't a perfect 1:1. I tried my best here.

Larkspurpeak- Mwssafponmahssbup (poisonous flower-tor). No translation for Larkspur. She was very specifically named after a toxic flower- her parents were kinda morbid lol. So keeping the theme of poison flower felt like it vibed here. And I used tor since it gives the idea of a rock formation, in the absence of being able to use mountain or mountain peak.

Lilydawn- Gaorponma'awhaf (tiger flower-dawn). She has an appearance that reminds me do the tiger lily, and since there's no word for lily, tiger flower! Dawn was a pretty easy 1:1 translation.

Bullflower- Gruagponma (fallow deer stag-flower). So for this prefix, I chose to keep story meaning over choosing an animal that would translate more directly. Bullflower is trans, and his birth name was Cowkit/paw, which he later changed to Bullpaw, and then he received the warrior name Bullflower. I imagine in clanmew, his birth name was Niaa (fallow deer doe).

Mallardsun- Kwekhapif (duck-daytime). Mallard was easily simplified into duck. For sun, I chose the imagery of daytime when the sun is shining, rather than translating directly.

Toadcackle- Yauwaoababa'amam (loud-speaking-toad). Toad was a direct translation. For cackle, though, there aren't any words for laughter or even purring that I could use, so I settled for loud, uproarious speech.

Brookshine- Yawshasheni (brook-shimmering). Pretty easy translation here!

Kitestar- Eeaoshai (red kite-star). Warrior name was Kitefang- Eeaoki (red kite-fang). He was named for the swallow tailed kite, but the red kite is the closest alternative!

Batspark- Fipskop (bat-spark). Really direct translation here! Chose the generic name over something more specific because Batspark was named after the silver haired bat.

Lightshadow- Olurrwasha (pale-shadow). Lightshadow's prefix was for their light coat colour, so I went with pale to pair better with shadow.

Dovefire- Hrrukafyar (rock pigeon-wildfire). Dove was just a matter of picking a pigeon species. As for why I went with the wildfire meaning specifically, it's because Dovefire herself was a spitfire and generally uncontrolled.

Once you start translating one, you just can't stop. I love the way you choose poetic meanings over direct translations, that's the spirit!

Tundrawolf being Swanwolf in Clanmew is actually super cool. A swan is actually strong enough to kill large dogs, if it gets them in the water. That's a little known fact. "Swanwolf" brings to my mind the idea of a graceful wolf that flies, kind of like a Clan cat version of a griffin. Two ferocious animals put together.

ANYWAY, onto some new words for you;

Toadcackle

To Laugh = Frrafrra/Frrafrr/Ffrraf

It's less of a "laugh" than it is an "amused purr," but it will do for anyone who's trying to translate some kind of joyful response to a thing.

Lilydawn

You know... I find it kinda weird that Lily is so common in canon. There are three "direct" translations for lilies in this region, but it seems so odd that "lily" is used for a general nice 'flowery' name.

I feel like the word the Erins should be using is "Orchid," actually. It has a sort of 'exotic' feeling but it's the far more common flower in this region. It makes me wonder if they ever meant to use it, and then thought it was an exclusively tropical flower so they used lily instead.

But, anyway, here are the three lilies;

Spadderdock/Brandybottle/Yellow Water-Lily (Nuphar lutea) = Pobba YES I will accept Brandy or Spadder as a valid warrior suffix because of this plant. It's a type of lilypad with a straight, towering yellow flower almost like a little tail, and a heart-shaped leafpad. VERY common in ShadowClan, and has a distinct smell like fermented fruit. (Its common name, brandybottle, comes from how much it smells like brandy)

White Waterlily (Nymphaea alba) = Powo The "waterlily" people tend to think of when they imagine them. A round leafpad with a white, blooming, lotus-like flower.

Lily-of-the-Valley (Convallaria majalis) = Urcha The most common flower to bring up when 'lily' is invoked, though Clan cats believe it's actually a white 'relative' of bluebells. Not the common "lily" that comes to mind when you're imagining floral arrangements!

So, feel free to come up with your own word for tigerlily there! Gaorponma works perfectly for what you were trying to invoke.

Sootscorch

This is another thing that makes me tilt me head about canon-- why do the cats have so many words for fire and its byproducts if they don't cook? Especially soot, specifically. Soot is what builds up as a result of controlled fires. Chimney soot, exhaust soot, you know. Why have more than "cinder" when cats are only supposed to see 1 fire in an entire generation?

But thankfully, BB cats cook. AND they can make things out of very fine soot, enough to want to distinguish it from cinders. It can become a pigment called bistre!

So Sootfur's name in BB is probably going to be able to translate as Bistrefur or Sootfur, depending. And in any case, that word is;

Soot/Very fine ashes/Bistre = Keybo (Cinder + Pigment)

Roothollow

Hmmm.... well in a previous one today, I made a word for Root, Pehur. So that's out of the way.

Part of me has actually been dancing around 'hollow' specifically because I like watching people try to come up with a way around it, lmao. It's such a good English word! It means so many things!

But the jig is up 😔It's time for some words for various lonely places.

Swale = Ulako From Ul Arra/One Whole + Kossa/Tree. The dead space that immediately surrounds a tree, where its roots and shade prevent other plants from establishing too deeply. Tend to be sunken and marshier than the surrounding areas.

Barrens = Kosmpor From Curse + Soil. An area that has recently been devastated by a natural disaster, and cannot support life. During the destruction of the White Hart, everything was reduced to kosmpor.

Hollow = Lurre A dip in a forested area, often a bit secluded and easy to miss. A good place to hide secret visitors.

Glen = Hwur A hollow that does not have any trees.

Ditch = Sskow An open pit that is dug deliberately, usually for training purposes so they're surrounded by soft dirt, but sometimes just to cool off or to set up a safe place to start a fire.

Tor = Hssbup A rocky outcrop in moorland that protects against wind. WindClan warriors are only allowed to construct ovens or fires in a hssbup else they might start a fire through the sparks being carried away.

Hhfsfhfhfhfsh I’m back in the inbox once again. Came up with another Furina idea. Kinda horror themed. But not really scary;

Faceless Furina. After her story quest, you can’t seem to see her face at all. It’s just…blurry. Even when face to face her eyes are covered with her hair as shade covers the lower half of her face. No one can see what her face looks like after her final forced performance where she fills in for the last scene. She doesn’t even try to hide it, nor does she even attempt to fix the situation. She even seems happy about it. But no one can tell because no one can see her face.

Side shots glitch and won’t reveal anything beyond her ears. If you were to try and hack to look at her face the game would either crash or you’d see a black abyss instead of her face.

Cameras stop giving her front face shots. The most you would get is the back of her head in close ups.

In events like the film festival, if the traveler tried to point the camera at her even as a joke—the lens would start to break and Furina would snap at them to move it away or face painful consequences. If they don’t listen Furina starts to threaten them or Paimon. (Girlboss move making them realize her boundaries after her crap-show of a story quest) she will unsheathe her sword or use hand-to-hand combat if needed to teach a lesson.

Photos are blurred or destroyed if they even make it to that stage. Most pictures don’t even make it to processing because they’ve somehow been messed up. A pigeon flew in front of her face the moment the camera flashed. The lens caught too much light ruining the picture. Paparazzi find themselves in painful situations when they suddenly trip when trying to sneak a picture of her secretly or someone brutally runs into them on accident. Though this is all on the speculation that Furina would let someone take a picture of her. She usually straight up refuses.

Even mirrors don’t show her face clearly. Nor so puddles or lakes or any body of water. If Furina wishes to hide her face, the world bends to that wish no matter the cost.

I feel like I share more Furina headcanons than I do deer creator. Which feels kinda sad. Might come back with some new facts after this week or something.

Essentially like most things, even befriending Leatherhead is all part of Mikey's manipulation game. He saw someone as traumatized and wounded as Leatherhead and thought he would be easy pickings, someone to pull in any direction he wanted.

We can arrange the doppel hunting the pigeons. :D The best way for you to do that is to just watch the Doppel a bit, without following it; especially if your guy is a birdwatcher and has binoculars. It would try to hide away for a nice snack. :D and you'd see how it hunts as a bird which is fun.

NOW for animal doppels, I want to go back to the beginning of my thought process, but I think they are actually the majority.

The first thing I thought about how there is absolutely no way the doppels only eat humans, because that is hard prey to get. Even if someone absolutely botches the playthrough, they would still throw out, like, fifty percent of the doppels. If someone who has played too much is the doorman, then it drops down to one per day, out of about six to nine doppels. We also hear the doppels mentioning that they are studying to get into the apartments, which takes time, during which they are not eating.

Similarly, the doppels also don't clean out every building they get into, because then, all the humans would be completely gone after, like, a few days.

So, the doppels get into apartments after a long time, really rarely, and they don't clear out the entire apartment; most likely, they only kill the doormen.

Now. That would mean food for them comes from somewhere else, which opens a host of possibilities, but that begs the question: why do they eat humans at all when one meal has like, fifty percent mortality rate for the hunter at best?

There's two things that I decided to headcanon to offset that.

First, there is a decent chance of the doppel escaping from the DDD; thanks to their shapeshifting, they would be hardy, because they can re-shapeshift whatever organ gets injured. Second, the human meat is both very tasty, and brings prestige with it. The doppel that ate a human spent months to get ready, pulled off a perfect disguise, killed the most dangerous prey - that's the mother of all bragging rights there!

Most shapeshifters never taste human meat, because it's too risky. The DDD needs its resources to deal with actual threats to humans, so the weird animals are just THERE, you are better off grabbing a broom and dealing with them yourself. Maybe only the human form is called doppelganger, even, and they call the animals something else.

Also, I decided that the doppels need calories/biomass to shapeshift, especially into larger forms. This is what the DDD leverages, mostly; they beat the doppel bad enough for it to not be able to take human form for a long time. Humans are relatively big.

Most mature doppels are deer, since deer are weird as hell already, but there are a lot of stray cats, dogs, and things like possums and raccoons. The common garbage nuisances have a chance to be doppels.

Yeah, sadly for Dove (and him honestly) he is very much a yandere still. Sometimes others (and even me lol) forget that fact. And yes. LMAO. I was talking to friends and it was suggested as a joke but I liked it too much so it stuck.

And he is! His boss is okay with it so Krow will be listening to tunes while cleaning up the most gruesome messes.
